Ingredients of Turmeric Rice
- It’s of quick fry.
- You need 2 tbsp of butter.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of onion pounded or fine dice.
- It’s 2 tbsp of pounded shallot or fine mince.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder or (2 inches pounded fresh turmeric for stronger flavour).
- It’s 2 cup of rice uncooked.
- It’s of season.
- You need 1 tsp of salt.

- You need 2 cup of water or stock (optional).
Turmeric Rice instructions
- In pan with butter fry onion and shallot with (pounded fresh turmeric if using) till fragrant and light brown then add rice.
- Optional you can add water or stock and mix well then add (turmeric powder if not using fresh pounded turmeric) and salt then off heat.
- Transfer to rice cooker and cook as usual.
- You may add lemongrass and screw pine leaf if you are using.
